My Third Month as a Freelance Writer on Medium
Lessons for all the newbie writers out there
Before we begin, let me warn you right away: This is not going to be a “How I Make $1000 Every Month On Medium” type of story. It won’t be that exciting, interesting, nor motivating. Maybe, it’ll even be a bit boring.
But what this article definitely offers, is honesty, transparency and realism. Keep that in mind while reading, but other than that, have fun!
A little more than three months ago, I started writing on Medium. Before that, I’ve read tons of success stories, talking about how people earned loads of money with a few viral articles.
Of course, I wanted to experience the same success as they did, so I started writing. At the end of every month, I released an article that summarized what happened during that particular month. The progress I made, lessons I learned, and the things I did wrong.
As it turned out, my journey was different from the regular success stories on this platform. And the people enjoyed it. Because it shows the perspective of a regular author, instead of the one hit wonder writer, that made thousands of dollars with his first article.
