My Second Month as a Freelance Writer on Medium
How I progressed, what I’ve learned and what I did wrong
A month ago, I wrote a story about my first 30 days as a writer on Medium. The purpose of this article was to provide maximum transparency and remove false expectations.
And what can I say, it worked out pretty well. I received many positive responses on that story and people told me that they are having similar experiences. There were also others that hadn’t even started writing yet, and it seems that I’ve opened some eyes.
On this platform, you will find many stories with titles such as “How I made $1000 with my first article”. If you’re planning on starting off as a writer, you will probably have false expectations on how your first month will look like.
I had those expectations as well and after recognizing that the reality is different, it cost me a lot of motivation to keep going. To prevent you from the same mistakes I made, and recap some of the most valuable things I’ve learned, I will now write an article after every month to do exactly that.
